Maridza Kim Sarah Audrey Poisson-Poirier was born in Montreal, Quebec in 1981.

Autonomy, mathematics and critical thinking have been the basis of her childhood education. With a natural affinity for symbolism; her creativity guided her towards Fine Arts early on in her academic curriculum.

She attended the Westmount Art Center prior to her admittance to Mitchell & Montcalm High Schools in Arts & Culture. Daily studio courses enabled her to explore pastels, charcoal, gouache, acrylics, sculpture, inks, collage & stained glass. Part of the artistic curriculum required students to emulate Classic and Modern techniques as part of the ‘Culture’ aspect of the program, exploring byzantine mosaics, early advertising, Impressionism, Pointillism, Dadaism & Pop Art.

Audrey explored pencil techniques and oil on canvas in a more personal setting. Other explorations include dance, drama, poetry and play writing.

She obtained her college degree in Arts & Literature in 2002 at the CEGEP du Vieux Montréal to then be admitted at Concordia University’s Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in 2003, where she produced a stop-motion short.

She continues to produce new series for personal as well as professional projects & has been freelancing since 1997.
