I enjoy photography, it brings balance to my life. I run a company specialized in elections and justice administration, we produce software and consulting. Although modern photography is almost impossible without computers and software, the actual process of taking photographs is about perception, observing and feeling.

While in high school I took a lot of photographs, I used to hike with good friends. Share our photographs and enjoy the solitude of the telluric landscapes of the magnificent Andes. Some years later working as an engineer and traveling a lot I stopped taking my Nikon FE2 with me, and sadly my laptop (a brick at that time) took it´s place in my hand luggage. I met a lot of interesting people and visited wonderful places, images that are in my memory and are difficult to share.

In 2000 I bought a Canon S400, and I always took it with me. I was surprised by the quality of the pictures such a small camera could take. Some of the pictures taken with the S400 are still my favorites. But I missed manual exposure and aperture control. Soon I bought a Canon S2 IS, I wanted a small and light camera that could comfortably fit in my hand luggage. Again I produced some very nice pictures with that camera, but depth of filed control was still an issue. In 2006 I finally returned to a Nikon SRL, this time digital. An 10Kg (camera, lenses, computer, headphones, book) backpack joins me on every trip, of course a tripod on my registered luggage, weight is not an issue anymore. On some trips (work trips) I do not take a single picture, but on most of them I manage to take a day or a half day off to make photography.

I love “Pareja Caminando”. A couple is still together after so long. Sadly not so common now days because it should be. I watched the couple together during the fair in Antigua. “Mirando al globo” is also one of my favorites, it is amazing how people can be happy with simple things of life, they were watching a small hand made aerostatic paper globe rise. “Triste” (sad) is also one of my favorite photos, I like the fact that it is also one of Flickr’s viewers. I was not sad when I took the photo, but the landscape seems like an andean Huayño, a sad melody with very sweet and clean tones. “Amanecer en Río Dulce” is my computer backround, a very happy sunrise, the best way to start a day with beautiful light, a calm mod with life starting to show.

Flickr is a nice place to share my perception our world and the society we live in. ¡Enjoy!
