I'm Christopher. Scarborough, Ontario is my adopted hometown because I lived there the longest and grew up there. In North America I've lived in Ontario, Connecticut, California, Nevada and Maryland. I currently live in Maryland, but I'm 2 miles from the Delaware border so the lines blur.

Hockey and the outdoors are my life. The Leafs and Sharks are my favourite hockey teams but I've also become a Capitals fan since I've moved to Maryland and can attend Caps games regularly. I kayak, surf, hike, bike and snowboard. Geocaching is a blast. I am also a pilot and love anything aviation. My grandfather was a life-long railroad man so I grew up around trains as well and have always retained an interest in that too.

I am a Firefighter/EMT by trade and I work for Delmar Fire Department on the Delaware/Maryland border full time on D-Shift. We run calls in both States and are dispatched by both. I also work at Hebron Fire Dept (Maryland) part-time on A-Shift. I am a volunteer firefighter at Landover Hills Fire Dept in Prince George's County (Maryland) and at Mardela Springs Fire Dept (Maryland) in Wicomico County. I need to be involved at four fire stations at the same time like I need a hole in the head, but I love it so I make it work out.

I've always had an interest in photography even from a very young age. Before taking photos I shot film using my parents Kodak XL33 Super 8 Movie Camera. I mostly used it on visits to the airport to watch planes. It had a zoom which made it better than my parents Disc 4000 camera. I've also always loved anything transportation related so I took a lot of movies of buses, trains and cars in general. I started taking movies in 1986 and photographs in 1989.

I began taking photographs in high school when I was given my first camera, which was a hand-me-down from my parents. That camera was a Kodak Disc 4000. I needed to take pictures for a class project. The project was to make a calendar with a different photo for each month. The calendar had to have a theme, so all 12 photos had to be of the same general subject matter. We could pick any theme we wanted. At this point in my life I had recently become interested in Fire-Rescue-EMS so that was my chosen subject. My father told me I could have the camera for keeps and he thought this project would a perfect time to give it to me. I drove around and took 12 different pictures, trying to get a varied mix of ambulances and fire apparatus, which I was successful in doing. This is what launched my interest in photographing emergency vehicles. That was in 1989 and I've been doing it ever since.
