Hi my name is Mohamed Malik. I'm from R. Inguraidhoo Maldives. My real profession is teaching. I have worked as a physics teacher for a few years now. But at the moment I'm studying Bachelor Of Teaching English as a foreign language, the reason for that is because one of the main obstacles towards teaching Physics in Maldives, especially in islands is the lack of language skills of the students. As a physics teacher i believe that i made a difference. So now i want to make a difference as an English teacher.

Apart of teaching I'm a open-source software enthusiastic, who use, support and promote the use of free and open-source software. I only use free and open-source software. I believe that by using pirated and counterfeit software's we are invading others copyright. Isn't that the reason why we copyright the pictures that we upload in the first place. So for anyone who is using pirated software think about what you are doing!! Either purchase them or migrate to free software. My most favorite open-source software's are

1. Ubuntu ( Primary Operating System), Sometimes i use Mandriva as well.

2. Digikam ( Manages all the pictures)

3. Gimp ( For image editing and manipulating)

4. Darktable ( Raw Processing)

They all are free and does a fantastic job, i never miss anything!!!!

In that field, I'm the current Program Coordinator for MOSS ( Maldives Open Source Society) I was elected to the post on 8th July 2010. I'm also the editor of MOSS Your Monthly FlOSS Magazine, which is released by the Maldives Open-source Society. I Write about anything and everything that is related to free software, in the magazine.

You can see more about MOSS activities@ www.moss.org.mv

My interest with photography began in 2007, when i first started to teach Physics, My most favorite topic to teach is LIGHT!! I Love to teach my students about light, waves and lenses, even though I'm still learning a lot about light through photography. May be it is the reason why i am learning photography very easily too. Photography helps me to understand the rules of nature, how they are governed.

Copyright!!! None of my images are copyrighted! It is available as a creative commons license. Anyone can use it without my permission as long as i get credited for what i have done. Other than that i don't care or bother at all. Wouldn't be much of a free software person if i don't share my own work!!!

More information about me and the other things that i do can be found on my my official website ( www.mohamedmalik.com)
