Steven N. Maliarakis Online Photo Atlas' photostream |
Welcome, and thank you for visiting my online Photo Atlas.
Here you will find pictures that I have taken ever since my very childish age which will consist of, my astrophotography, regular photography of my country Greece, and the United States which I currently live, personal videos that I put together and much more. Also there will be a number of NASA images that I obtained for scientific research from NASA-LPI which includes different space mission such as the Apollo missions to the Moon.
Everybody's remarks are welcomed, as long as they are written with respect and professionalism toward the individual who's taken the photo.
Please be aware that none of my images will be available at high or full resolution at the flickr website. If anyone desires to get high-res or original TIF images, they should get in touch with me in order to place their request. NASA imagery can be obtained only from NASA. Another source to request NASA photography are the RPIF image facilities were they might have large collections of NASA material. To request NASA images processed by me, I will need a written e-mail explaining the use of images along with any project details.
And here's little information about myself:
I was born in 1985 at the beautiful and remarkably historic, diamond of the Aegean Sea, the island of Rhodes in Greece.
I have studied Astronomy ever since I was six. I hold two certificates, equal to masters in level which includes, Byzantine (Greek Orthodox Church Chant), as well as Musical Theory. I play professionally and as hobby seven different musical instruments, which includes, piano, double piano, synthesizer (keyboard), violin, lira, tampoura, and little bit of guitar. I've been a member in several local Greek Choir Teams in Rhodes for many years and I still do.
Since the year 2000, I’ve been a part in one of the most advanced Astronomical companies of Greece (www.astronomos.gr), in which I have also had the honor as I still do, to publish a number of astronomical images, (images taken though my telescope), as well as articles in our company’s tri-monthly periodical (name Uranus or "Sky"), which our company issues for decades, with the goal to keep all of our members up to date in Astronomy, as well as the NASA Space Program. Currently our company has little over 3000 members and still growing.
I'm a Greek Orthodox Christian, very spiritual, and very linked to my spiritual father Elder Ephraim, (also founder of the Greek Orthodox Monastism in North America). I'm also a pilgrim at one of the monasteries that he established with the help of God, which it's considered as the headquarters of spirituality in the United States of America - the Greek Orthodox Monastery that is dedicated to St. Anthony the Great, (father of the Monastic life). The Holy Monastery of St. Anthony is situated in the very deep arid region of Arizona near the town of Florence, AZ, and truly, for those thousands of visitors who arrive every year and who visit from all over the globe, it is considered a true hospital for their soul and a true prototype and example oasis in the Arizona's Soronan desert.
I'm currently a full time student, studying Astrophysics and Planetary Geology, in the state of Arizona.
Again, thank you very much for visiting.
"The Stars reveal the Glory of God!"
My best wishes to everyone,
Steven N. Maliarakis
