I don't enjoy comments that advertise yourself or your favourite "backslapping" group -- you know, the ones with rules like "post one, comment two". Save both of us a few seconds by not leaving comments like that on my photos.
On the other hand, I don't mind -- and even kinda like it -- if you include a thumbnail of your own photo if it actually relates to mine. Unless it feels like you are really just self-promoting, in which case, see above.
I'll make exceptions to the above whenever I feel like it.
