Amateur but addicted photographer. Got my first digital camera Jan '04 for family photos (never owned a film camera). But once I picked up a macro lens, it was all over. My vision is not so good, so I really enjoy seeing small things up close and personal. I also like the freshness of images at the macro level.

My usual tools:
Nikon D70
105mm f/2.8 micro-nikkor
Raynox DCR-150 macro diopter
Raynox DCR-250 macro diopter
12" Photoflex translucent reflector (diffuser)
A LumiQuest SoftScreen diffuser
I own a Bogen tripod, but most of my shots are handheld
Photoshop Elements for:
cropping, levels, curves, sharpening, and the occasional color enhancement

"Macrophile may have weak eyes (according to his bio) but his hands must be as steady as that of a brain surgeon. He has a great knack and creative vision for the macro art."

    Nigel Jones says:

"If these photos are taken with Macrophile's first camera, then this guy has natural talent. Who knows what he may achieve in a few years time with more experience. Great macro photos."
