Hello the names Ryan and I currently reside in the East Riding of Yorkshire. I love my Yorkshire heritage and I do feel that in certain places its ver photogenic.
I'm currently 19 years old and am in the process of completing my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology at University.
Prior to this I spent two years in college at A-level where I successfully completed my Media Production course with Distinction & Merits. I felt however that I wanted to pursuit a different future career path away from Media after completing my course.
Photography is a huge passion of mine and I believe it always will be. Although I try and do a mixture of photographs my favourite genres have to be Landscape, Macro and Architectural, simply because I have more control over the initial subjects.
I did my first professional shoot on the 6th January 2012 (a wedding at Hotel on the outskirts of Harrogate). So here's hoping for a few more possible bookings in the near future.
I first started taking a slight interest in photography when I got a Polaroid Joycam for my 8th Birthday back in 2001. I had also at this staged used my grandparents old 1960s Polaroid Land Camera. Although during this time I really had no knowledge and just snapped pictures of anything to see how they instantly developed before my eyes.
In mid 2003 I went digital, getting a 3.2MP Canon Powershot A300 which I used during my family holiday of that year.
During a trip to Windsor in 2005 and a Holiday to Lanzarote in 2006 my photography interest flourished a little bit more and I became rather keen at experimenting in Landscape and building shots at this point.
In 2008 due to the Canon being vastly inadequate I bought a Samsung S1050 for our holiday to Turkey, it seemed an okay camera for the price and took half decent snaps.
Finally in January 2010 after having some left over xmas money from buying my MacBook Pro I bought my first DSLR camera the Olympus E-420. At this stage I also began collecting older photographic equipment such as, Film SLR's, developing tanks, extra lenses and film movie cameras etc.
I do enjoy film photography and believe digital just cant match the quality and depth what film can produce. I have started the process of getting back into film photography so expect photos in the coming weeks in May 2012 perhaps.
In November of last year I got my Nikon D90 after selling the Olympus, as it was surplus to requirements. My next lens is going to be 50mm Nikkor f1.8 Aperture Lens in order for me to develop more into portrait shots.
With the nature of my university degree I tend to spend a lot of my free time studying and reading at home and on campus, but I often take walks armed with my DSLR and or iPhone 4S just to in case something crops up along the way which I feel would be make an awesome shot. You never know!
