Getting my first digital compact camera back in 2006, the great high iso performer FujiFilm F10, is what started my interest in photography. Suddenly being able to take an unlimited number of shots, seeing the result instantly, and then with gradually understanding the technical concepts was really inspiring, and finally got me to buy my first DSLR, the Pentax K10 clone, Samsung GX-10 in the spring of 2008.

I must admit that I don't take as much pictures nowadays as I did in the beginning, but to counter that, I try to take better ones ;-)
A while ago I ventured into the land of good old film after picking up the wonderful Konica Hexar AF on eBay, and I try to get into the whole darkroom thing. Very fascinating, and very different from the digital workflow. Just having 24 or 36 pictures really makes you think a little more on composition before taking the picture, and I also think it affects the photos I take when going digital.

All in all I just inspire to be a better photographer - not a professional one.
