I took a black-and-white film photography class in college; now I use a digital camera. Some of my favorite subjects are random "trash" and worn-out signs that I find on walks around the city. I often bring my camera to document rallies, shows and other events in which I am a participant. Over the past year I've enjoyed taking shots of (and eating) my culinary creations; I'd like to think they are cookbook-worthy.

One of the best parts of traveling is being able to take pictures in environments different from Chicago. I earned Underwater Photographer and MX-10 (amphibious camera) certifications from PADI several years ago.

A few of my photographs have been displayed at the University of Chicago Hospitals. This year I received an award for "Flew the Coop", a picture of parrots in Panamá. Other photographs I took in Panamá were part of "Pregonando: Voicing Community", a multi-disciplinary exhibit in Chicago featuring collaborative, community-based projects.
