Hi, my name's Geoff and I live in Canberra, Australia. I am an amateur photographer ... a dabbler compared to some of the artists found around these parts. I've spent maybe 15yrs as a semi-professional musician (percussion, drums and vocal), I'm a scientist by day and I firmly believe that life's too short to wear dull clothes ... I love music and pretty much anything visual.

Along with live performance (my last band was a 10-piece funk juggernaut) I also followed a compositional and computer-based sequencing and sampling route. I always loved photography and have owned a camera of some form for as long as I can remember.

In the beginning of 2007 I sold off most of my musical gear and began to invest in glassware ... particularly Nikon F-mount glassware. I wish I could say that my D80 body formed a significant part of this investment but it's no longer true! I soon began to discover that my photographs were better than any of the music I'd written and I really haven't looked back since.

I joined Flickr in mid-2008 and was immediately impressed by the sheer volume of talent and community I found. I have built up a lovely network of contacts and it's been fantastic to discover there are people who love what they do as much as I do.

Please do not be offended if I don't add you as a contact ... I'm finding that I'm not able to give all my current contacts the feedback I think they deserve.
