Born in Portsmouth, Virginia on April 23, 1977.
Raised in Edenton, North Carolina, land of tobacco fields and cotton mills.
Living in Chicago, Illinois now, a place that is more home to me than any of the previous homes ever were (though I am proud of my southern roots and the family I came from). For my day job, I work as an office assistant part-time and in a local library the other part-time. I am also a sometimes freelance writer (usually unpaid, but hey, I have an audience) and aspiring poet, film critic and YA fiction author. I'm working on a book as we speak, with the speed of a snail.
