I’m Lucy. I am 21 years old.

I adore my Hamsters, they are my babies.
I love Watching and Photographing Wildlife.
I enjoy Travelling and seeing new places.
I really enjoy Arts and crafts, mostly card making, counted cross stitch and drawing.

I have a Genetic illness called Ehlers Danlos Syndrome Hyper-mobility Type (EDS Type III), I also suffer from very severe M.E. (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) and terrible Fibromyalgia.
Both EDS Type III and M.E. have no cure and no treatments that have helped me.
I have a wide range of symptoms including extreme prolonged fatigue, which means that I have very little energy to do anything, reversed sleep patterns, bad joint/muscle pains and awful headaches, joint dislocations, delicate skin which results in easy bruising, stomach problems, blood pressure and flow problems and I have a lot of food sensitivities.
My illnesses mostly restricts me to my bed where I spent the majority of my time. On good days I might go downstairs or even go out but those days are few and far between and I always suffer afterwards. When I do go out I can only walk for very short distances and sometimes I have to use a wheelchair. I don’t like using a wheelchair but sometimes it is the only way that I can get out of the house.
Since my early teens I have had to live within the boundaries of these illnesses; over time as my illnesses deteriorated I have had to give up pretty much everything, such as college, hobbies and sports.
Developing my interest in Photography has allowed me to once again have a hobby to enjoy. It took me a long time to find something that I can still do and enjoy within the limits of my illnesses.
Photography is something that I know I won't have to give up, even if my illnesses deteriorate because photography is so flexible. There is always something to photograph whatever time of day or night it is.
My partner, family and friends are wonderful; I wouldn’t be able to cope with these illnesses if I didn’t have them supporting me through everything I do.

My partner Luke is one in a million, we have been together 6 years now. We have had many ups and downs with my illness and such but we love each other so much we are determined to be together whatever. He is my world, I would do anything for him and I couldn’t live without him.
