I organized for civil rights in the 1970's, worked in an oil refinery while going to law school; I worked as a congressional aide on Capitol Hill and started my own private law practice. I served as the City Attorney for former Mayor Bob Lanier and I have been legal counsel to some of our most important government entities.

Each of my experiences has taught me the importance of bringing people together to pursue common goals. I want to use those experiences to ensure the brightest future for Houston. I understand the importance of keeping our homes and neighborhoods safe from violent crime and the need to improve our city's infrastructure.
