My name is Nicolas and I run my own business. Designing and programming is what pays the bills. I love photography and motorbikes.

I'm originally from Belgium, I came to Australia to backpack around the country in 2002. While in Melbourne and Sydney, I shot about 6000 photos in less than a week with a great Nikon point and shoot. That's when I realised that I love taking photos. I really got stuck into it when I bought a decent DSLR the following summer and moved to Australia.

I lived for 9 years in beautiful Adelaide and moved in 2010 to Brisbane for work.

I'm not a people person, that's why I stick to landscape and architecture. Occasionally I will include people in them, mostly to give a sense of scale.

I get lost in flickr and can easily waste hours just clicking about, my favourite tags are: bw, hasselblad, squareformat, mamyia, ...

Most of my older photos have been shot with my D200. Although I have a hasselblad sitting on the shelf taking dust, I found out I'm a digital person and I enjoy 'developing' myself, in the wide sense. Plus seeing the amount of RAW I shoot, shooting film would cost me a bridge.

My workflow relied strictly on Adobe Lightroom. I used to do the whole Camera Raw + Photoshop in the past, but thank god these days are over.

Today, I find I just shoot with whatever is on me. Amazingly, that's an iPhone 4. If you're a purist and can't deal with the quality, get over it.

Find more of my photos on my photoblog, Lightfocus.org, where they are much better presented, bigger, on a black background (that counts).

Finally, enjoy!
