FINDING MY WAY

After recovering from back surgery, struggling and coping with a long lingering illness, my daughters gave me a painting set. It took a while before I was confident enough to paint. I did not have any training in art. I tried painting figurative forms which did not feel right but when I painted shapes and colors instead, it felt right. I began to see patterns and forms in color as if in a vision, for lack of a better way of explaining it. I realized that I had a storehouse of thoughts about how we are as living beings and about existence that are stored in my mind that could only be expressed in a visual form. Thoughts that I have had since I was a child that I struggled and tried to express in different ways came back to me. I paint them as I see them in my mind’s eye.

My paintings are about that and how we are all part of a vast whole that is both simple and complex it its intricate connections. It is about life. The art of life.

It is an honor and a life long fulfillment to be able to put it all on canvas.

THE COLORS AND WHAT THEY REPRESENT

These are the meanings of the color and how I use them to paint the myriad of maps and patterns of our existence and how it relates to the different levels of it.

The intensity of the color relates to the intensity of its intended meaning.

The size, length, thickness, and consistency in color of Lines, Dots, Circles, etc., represents their importance in the representation of the meaning in the Painting.
