The greatest reward for our efforts isn´t what we get for them but what we become through them.

... just another one loving photography.

I ´ve found the passion for the picturesk world in 2005 purely by chance and since then it is changing my life in a way I never expected it to do.

In those pre-years Business Management and (Environmental) Economics were studied and a career in one of those subjects was bound to occur.

Now life is ... somehow different.

For all those who think I use HDR-techniques: I DO NOT. (if I do not tag otherwise) Like John Lehmkuhl says in his profil: "HDR is still in a very uncontrollable ... . Used with a heavy hand it the photos look cartoonish and artificial with black skies and horrible halos around everything of contrasting luminosity."

"Lichtmaedel or "Girl of light" you choose the perfect nickname because you have an absolute control of light. You have an absolute control every aspect of your photos. Photos that inspire, that transmit peace.

Your work is wonderful Kerstin, thanks for the inspiration!

    Greetings from Puerto Rico,

"Dear Kerstin, I could have written this the day you
opened my eyes and yes it would have been "Dear Kerstin"
    back then too!
Why, because I feel I know you through your beautiful insite
of life. I wish to praise you for your [outstanding], hounest,
and illustrious work. Writing a testimonial has never been so
hard for me, you are creating new standards for wich there are no words to follow, only feelings.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart and will follow you as long
as your willing to share your talent with more than admiration.

    velozipedist [affected by censoring] says:

"I don't know how complete her stream is going to become, anyway I think it's time to say something about Lichtmaedels photos.

The sea scapes pull the viewer right into the scene, prepare to hear waves or feel cold: crisp dawn light, perspective depth, clear composition, rich colors, water motion, reflection, transparency -the mood ranges from contemplative to dramatic. But this is not the only photographic style she knows how to deal with in an extraordinary way: She uses a Lensbaby for uncommon focus, you'll find excellent macro and portrait shots. She also sharply catches moving objects. Urban scenes and architecture is another topic: Lichtmaedel's compositions are clear and direct, an impressive series she made in a decaying hospital -pictures of terrifying beauty. At this point I'm looking forward to photos of Berlin.

There is something more to Lichtmaedel's photos than just beauty or quality. They carry a message or move you in a way. Obviously, the camera became part of the photographer.

So, for me Lichtmaedel is the most remarkable member on flickr, and she couln't have chosen a better screen name. The stream reveals part of her exceptional talent she discovered only few months ago.

Good News: It is so great to have Lichtmaedel as a "pro", that's definitely what she deserves. In the name of all viewers: Thank you, whoever paid for this!"
