Mr. Guybrarian's flickr score: 1792
"Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst"
Henri Cartier-Bresson
guy.brar.i.an [gahy-brair-ee-uh-n] -noun
a professional male trained in library science and engaged in library services. The guybrarian is easily outnumbered by his female counterparts...by a margin of 1 to 4.
Someone once called me an artist. It made me pause. I had never thought of myself as an artist before. An artist is someone who creates something out of nothing. I’m just a guy who takes pictures. Sometimes, an accident will happen and some of them will turn out really good. But does that make me an artist?
Much like my life, my photostream is a mixed up mess of things lacking any clear theme or relation to one another. You would think that a librarian would have a better sense of organization...alas, this is not the case.
I seem to prefer taking pictures of the following:
1. Buildings - both new and old
2. Trees
3. Signs
4. Cemeteries
5. Rural landscapes
5. Cityscapes
Oh, and just in case you are interested, I'm 35.

FlickrdOut says:
"Whenever I need a smile, I just jump into Guybrarian's stream and float through his wonderful flow of humor-filled images until I feel better. And, who better to ask questions about Caldecott and Newberry medal winners? Why - there is no one better than Guybrarian!"

"Doug is a breath of fresh air. His photos make me laugh, make me think, make me wish we lived closer so that we can hang out all day and every day. I adore Mr. Guybrarian. I am waiting for him to make an honest woman out of me. Tick tock Doug.
If you are not familiar with Doug's work, you are missing out. He's the bees knees. Doug for Mayor!"28th August, 2007
