I got into recreational photography in the 1950s while in the Air Force serving in Japan. I took hundreds of Kodak color slides on ASA 10 Kodachrome and they have lasted for me to digitize them in recent years. I was married in 1955 and We have traveled over much of the Western United States always by car. I passed thru 8mm movies, several 35mm film cameras and finaly Digital which I love. My first digital camera was a Sony Mavica. I now have a Canon Digital Rebel and have recently acquired a 17-85mm lens with IS. It is a great lens and works especially well in low light situations where one might need to use slow shutter speeds of say 1/10 sec. For some years now I have used Pinnacle software to create DVD's of our trips with narration, titles and background music. I do not print very often except for some displayed in out living room.We enjoy viewing our DVD's on our 40 inch HiDef Sony television. A recent tragegy has befallen my wife who lost her central vision to macular degeneration and can no longer see our slides nor see any detail when we travel.
