Founded in 1970, Legal Momentum is the nation's oldest legal defense and education fund dedicated to advancing the rights of all women and girls. Legal Momentum is a national leader in establishing litigation and public policy strategies to secure economic and personal security for all women. Its groundbreaking work on behalf of women and girls is focused on four goals:

1. To secure effective and non-discriminatory pathways into an expanded range of quality jobs for women.
2. To secure the rights and conditions necessary for women to earn a living wage.
3. To ensure that public benefits programs provide an adequate safety net that is equitable and responsive to the needs of women and their families.
4. To expand legal rights and services for women who are victims of violence.
