Engineer-Retired-Married to a wonderful lady named Peggy-Kids and Grandkids. This will be my center for managing media through the present date and beginning with:

Gloucester, MA—is the 6th and hands-down winner on my list of “wanna be” hometowns on my way to being an adult. This collection is all scanned from 35mm positives shot from 1955-1959. The originals have not been seen since at least 1970 and are in remarkable condition considering horrible storage conditions. These Gloucester photos are mostly community interest and I am sharing freely with anyone. (Most likely someone from Gloucester and over the age of 62). Peggy and I visited Gloucester, Rockport, MA late summer 2011 for the first time in 46 years. My conclusion: The natives are still wonderfully friendly and the town hasn’t changed very much—very like it was frozen the way I left it in 1959.

Comments and suggested corrections are welcome--I did not put names with the faces. If you were there, you already know the people. Do add these to the comments as you want to.

Update February 5, 2011

I have added 498 photos in a new collection “Family Fifties through Seventies from Parent's Point Of View” These are all from Parent’s slide collections and include a little about all of us—MA, NH, OH, New Brunswick CA from 1955-1978 not already included in “Gloucester, MA 1955-1959 Community and Family” companion collection.

Here, I’ve added names where I can make sense of them—family corrections are welcome. I was mostly out of this loop in late 1959 and my last trip to Canada was in 1956.

Added Alaska Trip 1976 Collection—This was the dream trip for parents and some of the photos in Glacier Bay Set are just spectacular! Update February 18. 2011

Started adding sets for the “Peggy and Glenn Collection—Married without children” (yet) Marietta, OH 64-66 and then to Dayton OH 66-72. These are for family viewing mainly but are open to anyone for viewing—scanned from 35mm slides that went through horrible house fire plus 45-46 years of storage (my photography wasn’t too hot either). Photos added as part of this group number 641 bringing the total to 1387 as of 2/20/2011.

Update March 11, 2011

I completed all scans of 35mm slides and prints that I have. Most are uploaded and family photo record is complete through about 2001-2002. All of my family photos after 1972 are for family read only for now. Sporting events and trips are open to anyone.

Update March 23, 2011

Completed uploads for Peggy and Glenn WITH Children in Marietta, OH and the same subjects with the move to Martinsburg, WV through 2002. Photo total is now 2420 with the digital photos yet to catalog.

Update April 21, 2011

I’ve found additional photos for the earlier sets and have quietly added these over the last month. Yesterday, I uploaded a new set (Vintage photo/scrapbook) provided by one the Canadian Contingent, my Cousin Margaret O’Neill. These help to fill a huge void. I really had nothing much from my Mother’s side of the family and these help. Mother’s (and Father’s if one backs up a generation) roots were in New Jerusalem, New Brunswick CA. In the 50s, the community was taken over by the Canadian Military and Gagetown was created from it and the surrounding area—residents were relocated. Photo count now stands at 2710.

Update January 11, 2012

I added the first set in a second Alaska trip collection from 1976—I have several more sets to process and the newfound photos will double the collection size. According to The Weather Channel, 1976 was prior to pronounced sub-Arctic melting and these may depict a more beautiful, less spoiled environment than a trip taken today.
