My lifelong love affair with photography started with slideshows my dad would give of our trips around the U.S. when we were kids. I learned a lot, but mostly that all the technology in the world will never replace sound composition and a creative eye.
I cut my teeth on instamatics and film SLR's. My first digital camera was the very first Canon Digital Rebel, which I still use. These days I shoot with a Nikon D300 and my workhorse lens is a Nikorr AF-S 18-200/3.5-5.6G. I also use a Nikkor 50mm 1.8, which is a pretty amazing lens for the price (~$129).
I'm still finding my "voice" in photography, and I am taking a variety of photos in various genres to see what I gravitate to. I am interested in learning more about portraiture and lighting, creative landscape composition, and street photography.
