I consider myself to be a native of Los Angeles, even though I spent my teen years living in Hawaii. So even though I am a big city girl, I still have roots in small town life.

I am hapa from the tips of my toes to the last strand of hair on my head, and if you don't know what hapa means, just check out my self-portraits.

I love my family more than words can express and if I call someone my friend, chances are I also include them in my definition of family.

I am both a photographer and a writer and spend a great deal of my personal time deeply involved in one or the other.

I am a loyal Canonographer. I have a Canon Powershot, Rebel, and 5D when I shoot film I use an A-1. I also have a canon printer and film scanner. There is just something about the Canon name that I trust. Probably because my father has a Canon and from growing up watching Nature on PBS. The only time I stray from my Canon is when I shoot Holga. There is just something fun and surprising when shooting with a Holga. Like getting something for Christmas that you didn't ask for but now you can't live without.
