I'm on a mission to document the 21st century African-American experience. In doing so, I want to change how people see themselves and the world around them. I aspire to one day be remembered in the same light as James VanDerZee, Howard Bingham and Gordon Parks (a lofty goal, I know).

I've always loved pictures. And I've always felt that I have a story to tell. Rather than try and recreate a moment, an emotion or an amazing sight in words-I capture an image which if done correctly can make you feel as if you were there. I get to live the most inspiring parts of my life twice. First in the being there. And again in the sharing of the pictures that I've captured. I'm not chasing a dream, I'm walking in my destiny. See what I'm saying.
