All of the antique photos I've posted here are owned by me and are housed in my personal collection - they are not copied from the internet, books, ebay, etc.

I have been collecting antique photos since childhood - they have always facinated me on a number of levels...the known and unknown life stories and relationships, the fashions and accessories, the shifts in photographic styles and technical advancements, the historic events and places, etc. My collection is limited by my meager funds - but this encourages me to seek out the affordable gem, or the overlooked treasure. I like that Flickr allows fellow collectors to meet and share their collections, comments, and ideas here.

I recently purchased a digital camera, and might be brave enough to share some of my own modern photographs here and there. And of course there are always plenty of photos of my beloved little Italian Greyhound.

I have been frustrated by the number of people using the photos I post without first asking permission. Therefore, I may block those with little or no photos in their photostream. Sadly, I have also felt compelled to limit viewership to my collection - I hate to throw the baby out with the bathwater, so to speak, but I spend a lot of time and money to collect and preserve these images - so it bothers me when people try to cash in on my collection.

I am, however, open to collaborating on educational projects or those that further the interest in history or photography. Please contact me at lauralemur@aol.com for permission to use an image.
