Born in São Paulo in 1976, Laura Teixeira works as an illustrator and graphic designer. She studied Illustration in Barcelona (Eina – Escola de Disseny i Art) and Architecture at University of São Paulo, where she recently got a Master degree title in Design. Her work was published in Folha de São Paulo newspaper and TAM Kids, Pesquisa Fapesp, TPM, Pororoca and Garabattage magazines. Invited to design some large murals at SESC cultural centers, she wrote and illustrated “Número de circo” (Hedra, 2009) and “Letra de forma” (idem) children’s books. She also illustrated “O Jarro da memória” (Cosac Naify) and wrote “Coisas que a gente gosta e não gosta” (Hedra), with Fabio Zimbres. Besides, she founded Charivari magazine with another 11 brazilian illustrators (2005), supported by the Brazilian government (Conexão Artes Visuais Funarte/Minc/Petrobrás project), and created exclusive textile patterns for Neon, which is a well known brazilian brand. Workshops are regularly given by the artist. Solo exhibitions: Livraria Pop, Ritz Franca, Estúdio Risco. Group exhibitions: Buffalo Gals (Espaço + Soma, 2010), Charivari SESC Ribeirão Preto (2009), IlustraBrasil (2006 to 2009).
