Adam Lofbomm has art in his blood. His aesthetic training began at a young age under his two fine artist parents in Nashville,Tennessee: his mother, an accomplished portrait artist and interior decorator, and his father, a graphic designer, craftsman and painter. In high school he studied for three years under his friend and mentor, Rosie Paschall was chosen as a National Merit Semi-Finalist for his creative work and had his art shown in Washington D.C.

Lofbomm continued his education on his own terms, delving deeply into art history and drawing inspiration from the work of his heroes: Robert Rauschenburg, Larry Rivers, Richard Diebenkorn, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Thrush Holmes, and Dusty Griffith, to name but a few.

Lofbomm had his first solo exhibition, "Fledgeling" in 2004, which was displayed at Edgehill and at Caffiene, both in Nashville,Tennessee.Through participation in several Untitled Artist Group shows in Nashville, he continued to shift and expand his palette more toward photographic and mixed media work.

Upon his arrival in Korea in 2006, Adam dove fully into photography as a way to both document and reflect upon his experiences abroad. He studied photography in Seoul under Vincent Sung and Giorgia Mannavola. A desire to merge painting and photography led him to explore various photographic transfer techniques, and in 2009, he began selling the results at the Hongdae Hope Market. At that time, Lofbomm also had his first two-man exhibition "Unique" with painter Joe Tetrick at Owl Bus in Hongdae. In the second half of 2009, Adam and his wife Jessica traveled extensively in Europe and the USA, where he captured an upwards of ten thousand images for use in his work.

Now back in Seoul, Lofbomm has been busy setting up a new studio space and producing his next series of works involving photo transfers and acrylic on layered plexiglass. He and Jessica have recently opened the first fine art gallery in the Haebangchon neighborhood of Seoul, Laughing Tree Gallery. Adam's solo exhibition, "Urban Excerpts" will mark the grand opening of Laughing Tree Gallery on Saturday, September 11.
