My artwork incorporates different mediums including painting, sculpture, illustration, but primarily uses photography as a way of recording imagery. I enjoy moving across mediums fluidly, this is helped greatly by the use of the computer, where I can further manipulate the images adding a unique, personal dimension.

I am intrigued by the world of thoughts and emotions, especially my own. I have come to realize that I have used my artwork as a form of catharsis and that through it I am able to express feelings I could never put into words. Even though I use other people as my models, I utilize them as a vehicle to convey my personal message, though I recognize that each viewer will have their own interpretation of what they see.

As a young Arab woman, I use the veil in my work because it is such an important part of who I am. Yet the work is not just about the veil, it is about the person behind it. I am determined to show how beneath the veil there is a woman with feelings and emotions like all other women.

    Allow me to start from Minus Reality. Lateefa ignited a spark that lit a long road to Proper Photography knowledge when she opened the doors for photographers to exhibit in her exhibition. I created a piece “The Internal Battle” that suited the theme and got accepted and exhibited.

    Since then, I never stopped photography. More like I cannot stop it! I'm still walking on this road and discovering new things and learning new techniques.

    Thanks to Her, I'm a member in my second home "Tashkeel". The home that supplies me with all the Creative, Intellectual and technical support I need to survive my long journey on this road!

    While on walking on this road, I reached another fuel stop created by Lateefa. "Made in Tashkeel". An Exhibition showcasing Tashkeel Members and Workshop participants’ artwork. Thanks to Tashkeel Photography Workshops I learned more about hidden photography skills that I would never have discovered if it wasn’t for the great instructors Tashkeel appoints. Which resulted in exhibiting my piece “Dubai 2008”.

    Finally thank her for being very strict in criticizing my photos and actions, which gives me the chance to do my best to reach the standard she looks for.
