Unabashedly goofy, opinionated, Midwestern at heart, cheeky, insomniac who loves the color orange and people-watching. Sometimes described as "salty". Taking pictures makes me happy.

And because people tend to ask:

1. Canon or Nikon? Canon. Specifially the 5D and occasionally the 30D. I would love to experiment with medium format, but the wallet won't allow for that just yet.

2. Mac or PC? Mac. Specifically the 24" iMac and 17" MacBook Pro. I don't care for the glossy screen on the iMac, so when the time comes to upgrade, I'll be looking at the Mac Pro with a third party display.

3. JPG or RAW? JPG. I shot RAW for a long time, then I realized that if I nail my exposure and white balance in-camera as I shoot, I don't need to rely on a RAW file to "fix" later. I'm lazy and I don't like to spend hours on end editing my photos, so I aim to get as perfect an image as possible straight out of the camera (I shoot in manual mode 98% of the time, if you were curious). I'll occasionally add artistic enhancements or make adjustments in Photoshop, but I'd rather be out shooting instead of chained to my computer.

4. What's my post-processing workflow? Before I leave a shoot, I back up all of my CF cards to a portable Epson hard drive. I use PhotoMechanic to sort, tag and re-name my images after a shoot. I've created a series of Photoshop droplets that live on my desktop which automate my Photoshop workflow (custom B&W conversions, re-sizing for web, creating proofs, adding my logo, sharpening, etc.). I just select the photos I want to edit, drag them to my droplet and my computer opens Photoshop and does all the work for me. If I feel that certain photos could benefit from artistic enhancements, I'll work on them manually in Photoshop (I still use CS2; that's how disinterested I am in doing extensive editing). All of my work is backed up to at least three external hard drives (I prefer G-Tech's G-Drive) as well as a remote server.

5. Coffee or Tea? Coffee, please.

Did I miss anything?

But whatever you do, don't steal my stuff because I will turn into a mean ol' grizzly bear and no one wants to experience that.
