My first photograph was taken in 1948 on a Kodak folding Brownie 6-20. Over the years I graduated to 35mm rangefinders then SLRs favouring Pentax, my favourite was the Pentax K2 - I even had two of them - one for Kodachrome the other for black & white. I got into home processing which was fine with monochrome but less satisfactory in colour!

I started in digital photography in 2002 with my Canon Powershot G2 what a gem - still using it nine years later! Perhaps I'm a belt & braces type - I recently acquired a secondhand Canon G6 as a back-up! Update in October 2010, after almost 9 years I gave my trusty G2 its first 'bounce test'. Fortunately, despite the new battle scars after hitting the tarmac, it still works (see my Dulverton set!).
I have now re-sold my Canon G6 on ebay and bought a Canon G11, perhaps I might become CanonGIIfan!

I have added various Canon digital SLRs (but only one at a time!), first with the 300D, then the 400D, followed by the superb Canon 40D; and now with the best so far - the Canon 60D.
The problem with being retired is finding enough time to go out and play with either camera!

We are happy to share photographs but please do not publish them in any form without prior consent. We can usually send full res photos if required. We would also like to be asked before you add them to groups and are unlikley to agree to this if you have no buddy icon, no photographs of your own, or your site shows a collection of shots and favourites of a dubious nature.
