I'm what they used to call a "serious amateur" photographer. True to the root of the word "amateur", I love photography.

A lot of my best work I sell as stock, so you won't even see it here; I don't want to compete with myself by giving images away. On Flickr I'll tend to post the fun stuff, the stuff I want to share with friends and strangers.

If I've added you as a contact, it's a complement. Probably you shoot subjects that I like to shoot (children, lighthouses, pinhole). Very likely, I'm impressed with your work and want to see more of it.

I generally don't post to groups which require me to view, comment, favorite, or invite. I also avoid groups that require photos to be invited to the pool.

I'm glad to participate in any open group that wants to add my photos. I'd also be glad to help administer any group that interests me, where the group creator has lost interest or left Flickr, or just wants a helping hand. I tend to spend an inexplicable amount of time looking at lighthouse photos on Flickr.
