Hi! My name is Katy Weaver. Or K weav. Or just Weaver. Whichever you prefer.
I like hot sauce, camera equipment, indie music, siamese cats, birdwatching, social media, painting, and eating out.
Oh, and taking pictures.
I'm currently a full-time portrait and wedding photographer based out of Portland, Oregon, but I wouldn't be if it weren't for Flickr. I started using this site when I was 15 or 16 years old and I can easily say that without the encouragement from my flickr peers, I would not be where I am today.
I just graduated from Oregon State University with a B.S. in new media communications and a minor in applied visual arts. I love to write, photograph, design, create layouts, draw, paint and challenge myself to tell individual stories in beautiful new ways.
I'm basically a big nerd who loves people, technology and art.
All work on this website is copyrighted to me, Katy Weaver, but if you are interested in using something for any reason, please just email me and ask? I'm usually cool with it. I just like to know about it first, especially since photos of my younger sisters have somehow migrated from my flickr to x-rated internet sites. Not cool!

"Katy never said hello to me after I held the door to the police station open for her. Then again it's hard to when you're surrounded by police and paparazzi. She wasn't used to this sort of attention, and neither was I, but after the chase ended and the police gave her an escort, emotions feel back into place. Her clothes were torn but her spirit remained in tact as we shared a table in the waiting area of that surburban police station. The photogs outside couldn't see through the darkened windows, so we were comfortable making small talk about travel, comparative economics and donuts. It wasn't until she opened her wallet did I notice a beautiful photo that she proclaimed was her own. It was then I realized that Katy was more than just a blip in the media, she had feelings, an artistic eye for photos, and a good judge of mascara."
