am a 41 year old primary school teacher born in South Africa. After graduating with a 4 year teaching diploma at Springfield College of Education in South Africa, 1989, I was posted to teach in Middelburg. I met and marrried Kanthan and never returned to my hometown in Durban. I lived in Middelburg and taught at Eastdene Combined School for 13 years before emigrating to New Zealand in 2002. I have a daughter aged 16 years and a son aged 13 years. I am now living in Auckland and teaching at Kelvin Road School since 2003 - Decile 1. I have a grade 4 & 5 class made up of 22 Maori children and 4 Samoan children - they are my Cool Kids. I enjoy being a lifelong learner and graduated with a Bachelor of Education Degree in Teaching in May 2008, exactly 20 years after my college diploma. I love using ICT in the classroom and to me the INTERNET is the best invention ever - it takes my breath away! I love networking, keeping in touch, meeting new people, making some lasting friendships. My dream is to bring hope to the disheartened, make a difference, 'to be the change I wish to see in the world'. I'm a lover, not a fighter!
