Art has been a love of mine since I was a little girl. That love has turned into a passion over the years.

"It is in the Soy", as my Greek relatives love to say. My dad was a great artist and my aunt, his sister, still dabbles a bit with the paint brush. I took watercolor classes many years ago, taught by my father's first cousin, T. Nicholas Phakos. His art is in many galleries and owned by collectors across the country, especially the eastern United States.

I hope to be that good some day!!

Now, I am into another art form; photography. I started taking pictures for reference material for my paintings. Little did I know that I would love photography so much, that now the paintings and sketches have temporarily taken a back seat to the photography. With the help of a very talented Flickr friend, I am learning, improving and growing as a photographer. I now see things and look at my environment in a whole new way. My new challenge is trying to balance it all....the paintings, drawings, and the photography. I'll get there, eventually.......

11-3-09 Update - I am painting and drawing again and still taking lots and lots of pictures! There are not enough hours in the day to do it all...but I try!
