besides: I am a father of seven children (4 girls, 3 boys by three woman) from little Anna: 4 to my oldest son: Sascha: 43. in my third marriage I take care for our 2 liitle girls (Nina is 5) because my wife is a full-time teacher and earns the money for the family... i am 68(!) and in my spare time i love (and struggle) to do my artwork in "photo-poetry", writing and working for several manuscripts between travel-diaries, zen, art, religion/philosphy, poetry, and childrenbooks - and - i would love to have more time to read and to walk in the nearby forest!

ich nenne meine künstlerische arbeit seit über 30 jahren:
"fotopoesie" und meine damit: ich denke, ich sehe, ich
fühle und - mache auch fotos, aber ich bin kein fotograf -
verstehst du das? DANKE!
meine bilder haben manchmal bezug zu meinem schreiben
und dichten (besonders: haiku) und - manchmal hat mein
schreiben bezug zu meinen bildern... das zeige ich auch in

In 1857, when establishing his right before a tribunal to use the name "Nadar" he made the following observation:

"The theory of photography can be taught in an hour; the first ideas of how to go about it in a day. What can't be taught... is the feeling for light - the artistic appreciation of effects produced by different...sources; it's the understanding of this or that effect following the lines of the features which required your artistic perception.

What is taught even less, is the immediate understanding of your subject - it's this immediate contact which can put you in sympathy with the sitter, helps you to sum them up, follow their normal attitudes, their ideas, according to their personality, and enables you to make not just a chancy, dreary cardboard copy typical of the merest hack in the darkroom, but a likeness of the most intimate and happy kind...."
