I am a textile artist, using katazome (stencil-dyeing) and related paste resist techniques on natural fibers. The color in my work (since January 2009) comes from natural pigments and dyes. I work from my home studio in St. Paul, Minnesota. I have created imagery with dyes on fabric for many years. I enjoy processes related to printmaking and have applied many of these in my work including screen printing, stenciling, using hand-carved blocks and stencils, etc. I studied katazome with John Marshall in 2004 and again in 2010. Working with these gentle materials and earth-friendly techniques felt like a homecoming.
