Cinema EUROPE is a cult cinema in Zagreb. It was built in the last century by the very rich and famous Croatian family Müller, and from 1930's Cinema EUROPE acts as the classic cinema open for all citizens.
The cinema is, by the words of many, the most beautiful cinema hall in Zagreb. It is built in an old secession style at the start of the last century (1908), and its location is in the strict center of the town, placed on "Cvjetni Trg" (The Square of Flowers), which is one of the most attractive public places.

The city of Zagreb bought it out from the property of a private holder in October of last year, after the very successful action / petition made by Zagreb Film Festival and Croatian Movie Alliance. The action was named "Daj mi kino!" (Give me cinema!), by which the Croatian movie and cultural public, as well as all the movie lovers asked the City Hall to buy the building of the cinema because it was the last single hall cinema in Zagreb, as a symbol of the old days, leaving it to be what it always was - a cinema hall. Starting from January 2008, the managing of the cinema was assigned to Zagreb Film Festival with the intention of opening the first independent cinema hall in Croatia which will screen recent movies from the countries all around the world, with special light upon European movies and movies from our region.
