I'm living in Hong Kong, a noisy crowded city where I was borned. I remember the first time I took photographs seriously was at a sports-day when I was in high school year one. I was a member of the Photography Society and was asked to take photos of the event. With a Nikon FE SLR, a Nikon Series-E 28mm f/2.8, Tamron 85-135mm f/3.5 borrowed from my father and my brother, I was very excited, mostly because I thought I looked professional and cool.

Though I have no idea why I was appointed to the position, I became the vice-chairman of the Photography Society in my high school year three. Nothing good to be at such position except the privilege to hold the key of the dark room, which was located at the balcony of the assembly hall. Ironically, I mostly hide myself in the dark room not for processing photos, but for playing the guitar.

12 years past, now I'm getting back the seriousness to photography I once supposed to have. Through this place I exchange my feelings with photography lovers instantly, let people listen to my feelings deep in my heart while I listen to theirs, all without sounds. Just light and shadow is all we need.

I wish I could realize the joy of photography earlier.

Note on 25 Jun 2009:
- I don't think that photos with words added on them (i.e. use photoshop or similar software to add a phrase or your name/signature) are good ones.

- I believe that good photos never need well-written descriptions or articles ; by the same token, good articles never need beautiful illustrations or photos.

I have been thinking about what I want most out of taking photographs recently. I came up to a conclusion that expressing idea in my mind by photographs would be more interesting than just capturing beautiful moments. At least this is what I feel now.
Owing to this feeling, I started the project "In-between Hong Kong". I feel that there're many things stuck in my head and I wouldn't be able to return to clam unless I express them out. Hope that I can keep this passion for at least a while. It is the precious feeling I've been loving to possess, but it isn't something that comes whenever I want it to. I must not forget to keep gracing this feeling when it still exists.
