Hi, my name is Naomi and I'm a self confessed kimono enthusiast addict!

My passion for kimono lays very specifically within the Taisho era, although crosses over into late Meiji and early Showa. I'm particularly interested in kimono as it used to be worn - an every day garment and fashion.

This means my personal collection is rather eclectic, containing beautiful examples of well well worn and remade garments along with many vintage pieces of komono. I derive far more happiness from wearing a patchwork juban, knowing it was hand sewn together recycling pre-loved garments, than a brand new juban.

In addition to collecting kimono, I also collect vintage kimono sewing books, vintage kitsuke books and postcards. I plan on eventually having them all scanned in and sharing with all those interested.

Unfortunately I am rather illiterate when it comes to reading Japanese, so if you think you can translate some of the text - but need larger scans to do so, please, by all means, shoot me an email and I'll provide a larger scan!

If you would like to read more about kimono - please feel free to visit my websites:

Please feel more than free to share on other sites and with other maiko/geiko/geisha/kimono enthusiasts. I've invested my time and money into this as I simply want to ensure this charming ephemera is available to all. All I ask is that you keep the fan logo and/or watermark on all photos, and do not use these images for monetary gain.
