"L.K. is a glorious camera-wielding pearl diver, harvesting the marvelous from the murky seas of entropy, but the fun doesn't end there - she conjures perfect, poetical monikers for each and every one of her sublime pictures. Purr-ty pictures + pithyness... damn! she's flickr-foxy ;-)"

"Recently I passed a closed down store filled with stoves. I pass this store everyday and never pay it any mind. It's just there... background noise. But yesterday? Yesterday I stopped and really looked at it. Even pulled out my camera and wondered if I could sneak my way in.

This is something I blame totally on Ms. Kicey.

Through her work, she's opened my eyes to things I wouldn't care about or would simply pass by. I've got a whole new sense of Sight that I can only attribute to having found her. I couldn't begin to say thank you enough.

    So yeah... she rocks. :)"

"Her photos are more powerful than inertia!
They are the kind of images that inspire you to have Visions.
I am amazed at how prolific she is, more than that, every image is a stunning display of an artist's eye and a craftsman's ethos.
Apparently, they also inspire verbose testimonials.

"Laura has an eye for a picture - its all there in her head before she presses the shutter. As Freddy Nietsche said 'Art is not merely an imitation of the reality of nature, but in truth a metaphysical supplement to the reality of nature' and you can see that in her work. Its what's beyond the image, what you are left with when you move on. Its what makes her a photographer and us want to see reality through her eye."

She has an eye for beauty whether it be in the gracefulness of dance, the delicate spread of a flower, the chaos of modern life, or that particular loveliness that is decay -- and she is also her own best canvas, in some of the most original and glorious self-portraiture I've ever seen.

I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!"

"Neue is a cool girl. Her photos range from colourful montages to gentle, peaceful, "just captured a moment" to quirky, adventurous, fun images! She does it all and somehow makes it look easy. Her self portraits are masterful and fearless! She takes images that most of us would never dream of attempting for risk of not having them work out. I am learning so much from neue in how to improve my photography, pay more attention and more confidently take risks without fearing that my photos won't stand up to criticism. Neue is all that in addition to being a beautiful, cooperative subject of her own art. I continue to be in awe of her!"

    Roger L. Sizemore says:

"She may live in Ambler, but she's moving on a dead run.
A rare find among artists, neue is equally adept with word and image. Her wit is quick and sharp, and she wastes not one pixel in her photo designs. Without ever slacking on the quality, she is one of the most prolific flickr contributors.
As if all that weren't enough to cement her place in the pantheon, she's also beautiful and funny at the same time. Few women are so generous with their talents, and I am thankful to have met her here in the cyber-salon."

I'm always peeking into her universe, awaiting the next surprise, the forthcoming eloquent gesture.
I like her temperament, I like her eye, and she does photography through the gaze of an inspired observer, a filter of the sense of being and human experience.

    A true delight..."

    Ha.

Put succinctly, Laura has a keen, artistic eye and a great sense of structure regarding her work. Her use of color and light, her appreciation for composition, her ability to provoke a mood - are exceptional.

    She's a talented photographer.

    Simple as that."

    viewfinder says:

"We've all got them; the "ship in the bottle" creative shot -- the extreme closeup of the eye, the unusual selecitve focus, the compelling ground-level perspective... you know what I'm talking about; that shot of yours that feels so friggin' creative you're sure there's a photography award in it for you (that, or 150 comments on your flickr page).

So you post your prize winner to your page, and then gradually become aware that your original idea has a version (and often a better executed version) on the next 100 pages you visit... and you wonder, "have I taken an original shot in my life?"

'Neue does not have that problem. Hers is a truly original eye, that time and again shows me a window on a world I've never seen before. Beyond her skill with a camera, hers is the uncanny ability to find the shot (after all, absent a facility with previsualization -- the real art of photography -- we all become little more than button mashers, triggering endless snapshot frames fit only for one shoebox after another).

And when Laura's lens isn't trained on the world, she turns it back on herself -- a singular blessing for all lovers of beauty, for she is beautiful, and her self portraits truly sparkle.

If you haven't been here before, welcome to helveticaneue .... better bookmark this page, because if you're anything like me, you'll be back.

    Often."
