apricotX is back! says:
"L.K. is a glorious camera-wielding pearl diver, harvesting the marvelous from the murky seas of entropy, but the fun doesn't end there - she conjures perfect, poetical monikers for each and every one of her sublime pictures. Purr-ty pictures + pithyness... damn! she's flickr-foxy ;-)"
11th February, 2008
"I'm a happy happy figment of her imagination."
15th January, 2007
"Recently I passed a closed down store filled with stoves. I pass this store everyday and never pay it any mind. It's just there... background noise. But yesterday? Yesterday I stopped and really looked at it. Even pulled out my camera and wondered if I could sneak my way in.
This is something I blame totally on Ms. Kicey.
Through her work, she's opened my eyes to things I wouldn't care about or would simply pass by. I've got a whole new sense of Sight that I can only attribute to having found her. I couldn't begin to say thank you enough.
So yeah... she rocks. :)"

"a good friend is she.
an inspiration with the camera."
10th December, 2006
"Jealous and jealouser. You might call it luck, but her consistent ability to amaze proves otherwise."
17th November, 2006
Gwyn Michael says:
"She is the master of a "whiter shade of pale", and many other things as well. I look forward to watching her soar."
14th September, 2006
"She kicks ass."
7th August, 2006
Quercus rubra says:
"Her photos are more powerful than inertia!
They are the kind of images that inspire you to have Visions.
I am amazed at how prolific she is, more than that, every image is a stunning display of an artist's eye and a craftsman's ethos.
Apparently, they also inspire verbose testimonials.

myla kent says:
"Laura's stream is one of the best and most brilliant flickr has to offer. Yep, that about sums it up. ;)"
27th July, 2006
"great eye. great eyes. great."
8th July, 2006
"~Laura...your work continues to blow me away...visually what you present appears as eye candy...thnx for what you have shared here @ Flickr, I/eye can only look fooreard to seeing what lies in store for us...~"
27th June, 2006
"I'm constantly astonished by her photos. One of the few I've found so far on flickr where every photo is a gem, but her portraits are just stunningly good.
One day, I hope to take photos as well and as creatively as she does."
14th June, 2006
what a chick she is. she did a pretty convincing copy of my work, i almost thought i had one of those drunken nights where i ended up in philly and didn't know how i got home AGAIN.
12th April, 2006
"she's the first person I've ever met who can talk with her eyebrows. some say she's an a-ok photographer, too. i guess i'd have to agree!"
7th March, 2006
Beyonce Knowles it all says:
"Helveticaneue is an alright photographer (I guess), but her dry fruit gathering expertise is something to fight for."
19th January, 2006
Jeff Yaksick says:
"Well given the arduous task of leaving a comment of praise on practically every photograph, I'll just leave it at this... Laura has created quite an impressive body of beautifully stunning work. Truly inspiring. I for one can't wait for the over-sized glossy coffee table book documenting her career. :)"
18th January, 2006
"Thank you SO much for posing for me this weekend! I'm learning a whole lot about photography because of Flickr (and all the patient people in it like you) and I'm really grateful for the opportunity to work with such a beautiful person inside and out! Can't wait to share all of the photographs. Thanks for sharing 'your factory' with us. =)"

Sexy Swedish Babe says:
"She makes me speechless."
15th September, 2005
Project 404 says:
"Laura has an eye for a picture - its all there in her head before she presses the shutter. As Freddy Nietsche said 'Art is not merely an imitation of the reality of nature, but in truth a metaphysical supplement to the reality of nature' and you can see that in her work. Its what's beyond the image, what you are left with when you move on. Its what makes her a photographer and us want to see reality through her eye."
6th August, 2005
bruce grant says:
"some see things as they are and say "why?"
laura sees things that never were and says "why not?"
how eyes so young see with such wisdom amazes -- and delights -- me
thank you...you embody so much more than the utilitarian typeface you're named for"
31st July, 2005
"I've never met Laura, but she is so totally my hero. She has an eye for beauty whether it be in the gracefulness of dance, the delicate spread of a flower, the chaos of modern life, or that particular loveliness that is decay -- and she is also her own best canvas, in some of the most original and glorious self-portraiture I've ever seen.
I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!"
19th June, 2005
"i'd love to take pictures like helveticaneue.
and SHOCKINGLY she's only been proposed to once."
12th April, 2005
sam b-r says:
"i'm constantly stunned by the imagery i see coming out of this photostream. there is so much power and emotion in the self-portraits that i can convey nothing in writing that will do them justice. go. go look and bathe in the glory of these images."
10th April, 2005
"i have known laura for a few years now, we go back to the college days, ........anyway..... she says that she has a job designing stuff but really i think she has a secret sugar daddy that foots her bills so she can go out and shoot a bazillion pictures everyday. "real job" or sugar daddy, she makes me want to shoot A LOT MORE!"
10th April, 2005
"the girl is on fire...."
31st March, 2005
30th March, 2005
"She's got it all - the artist's eye, the technician's skills, the hairy orange hand-puppet.
She's also funny and beautiful.
Anyone who has read this far down her glowing list of testimonials won't need much more encouraging. Go to her photostream now."
27th March, 2005
good morning stradivari says:
"Neue is a cool girl. Her photos range from colourful montages to gentle, peaceful, "just captured a moment" to quirky, adventurous, fun images! She does it all and somehow makes it look easy. Her self portraits are masterful and fearless! She takes images that most of us would never dream of attempting for risk of not having them work out. I am learning so much from neue in how to improve my photography, pay more attention and more confidently take risks without fearing that my photos won't stand up to criticism. Neue is all that in addition to being a beautiful, cooperative subject of her own art. I continue to be in awe of her!"
25th March, 2005
Roger L. Sizemore says:
"She may live in Ambler, but she's moving on a dead run.
A rare find among artists, neue is equally adept with word and image. Her wit is quick and sharp, and she wastes not one pixel in her photo designs. Without ever slacking on the quality, she is one of the most prolific flickr contributors.
As if all that weren't enough to cement her place in the pantheon, she's also beautiful and funny at the same time. Few women are so generous with their talents, and I am thankful to have met her here in the cyber-salon."
24th March, 2005
"Raw, soft, textured, mellow, fragile... many faces, many themes, many postures, much talent.
I'm always peeking into her universe, awaiting the next surprise, the forthcoming eloquent gesture.
I like her temperament, I like her eye, and she does photography through the gaze of an inspired observer, a filter of the sense of being and human experience.
A true delight..."
11th March, 2005
"You could just say she's talented, and you would be right: but it's not enough. Helveticaneue has a sharp eye.
She plays with colors and shadows and contrast as a juggler and, as a juggler, she leaves us wordless while looking at her. She picks us up, with every pic, and bring us in a magic, colorful world."
5th March, 2005
"I rather do this than comment on ALL her pictures!!!! ....I've found some great artist in Flicker but this is the first time I've liked every single shot in a portfolio."
4th March, 2005
"Good Lord, Viewfinder, is she paying you??
Put succinctly, Laura has a keen, artistic eye and a great sense of structure regarding her work. Her use of color and light, her appreciation for composition, her ability to provoke a mood - are exceptional.
She's a talented photographer.
Simple as that."
25th February, 2005
"We've all got them; the "ship in the bottle" creative shot -- the extreme closeup of the eye, the unusual selecitve focus, the compelling ground-level perspective... you know what I'm talking about; that shot of yours that feels so friggin' creative you're sure there's a photography award in it for you (that, or 150 comments on your flickr page).
So you post your prize winner to your page, and then gradually become aware that your original idea has a version (and often a better executed version) on the next 100 pages you visit... and you wonder, "have I taken an original shot in my life?"
'Neue does not have that problem. Hers is a truly original eye, that time and again shows me a window on a world I've never seen before. Beyond her skill with a camera, hers is the uncanny ability to find the shot (after all, absent a facility with previsualization -- the real art of photography -- we all become little more than button mashers, triggering endless snapshot frames fit only for one shoebox after another).
And when Laura's lens isn't trained on the world, she turns it back on herself -- a singular blessing for all lovers of beauty, for she is beautiful, and her self portraits truly sparkle.
If you haven't been here before, welcome to helveticaneue .... better bookmark this page, because if you're anything like me, you'll be back.

Evan Rossheim says:
"in the very short time i have been on flickr, this woman has impressed me more than any other photographer, with composition, color, unusual self-portraits, and wonderful insight into her own work and comments on mine. i feel i may have a true artistic co-conspirator here!!"
