Kendra is a life long resident of her community and District 138. For the past six years, Kendra has taught in the district at Scarborough High School and Clifton Middle School. She and her husband Carlos, who is a businessman, are the proud parents of an eight month old daughter and a three year old son, and Kendra assists in coaching his Little League teams. Kendra is an active member of the Houston Federation of Teachers and a steward for Clifton Middle School. She is also an active Life Member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo and has volunteered for the last 6 years. Kendra has also served as a precinct chair and as the State Democratic Executive Committeewoman for Senate District 15.
After graduating from Scarborough High School, Kendra attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she completed a triple major in Government, Psychology and Anthropology and graduated with Bachelor of Arts. While in Austin, Kendra worked as an intern for Rep. Mark Homer during the 1999 Legislative session.
