Hi All

My name is Jacque and I live in Stoughton, WI (about 20 minutes south of Madison).

I have 2 full-grown sons (manly men) and 4 adorable grandchildren. I have one brown dog (chocolate Labrador) who cracks me up daily.

I've only been involved with quilting since the beginning of 2009...though I learned to sew many years before in high school. Not sure why I was never interested in quilting...and I'm not sure what exactly sparked my interest. Couple of things, but they don't explain how thoroughly I am into it, now. Gotta tell ya, though, I am addicted!

I am working on putting my faves into galleries...what a great way to note why a specific quilt has been marked as one of my faves. I am drawn to quilts for different reasons.

I love prim colors and fall colors, but when I choose fabric for quilts, I am more drawn to the brighter, modern fabrics. I know! Go figure!

I do like some of the traditional blocks, but I mostly enjoy the freedom of modern quilting. I am in the process of putting together a more traditional type of quilt for myself...darker colors of red/brown/green/blue/black. The block patterns are monkey wrench and shoo fly...with a lot of hst's thrown into the mix, too.

I love whimsical, but not cutesy. I don't care for holiday-themed quilts. I don't much care for blue.

The fabric collection I drool over the most is Kashmir III by Sentimental Studios for Moda.

As for things in my life that give me pleasure...my brown dog, of course. My grandkids. Reading. Sewing. Quilting.
