Photography is a natural extension of my passion for travel. The pictures are travel stories. They showcase what I saw, what I liked, what moved me, what I tried vainly to capture the special moments and make them mine.

The moment when a photograph is made is a lonely one. You connect with what you see and record your interpretation of the light. It is the sharing of images that begins the connection with viewers and triggers inspiration, curiosity and emotion. That, perhaps, is the finest moment of photography.

Most of my pictures are not perfect. Often, it could be done better. Savouring the moment is more important to me than going all way out to take a good shot. I am the sort who prefers to watch the fireworks display than to shoot it.

I put up over 95% of the pictures of each trip. So what you see is almost the complete set, instead of just selective good shots.

My current gear:
- Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II (since Dec 2005)

- Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM (since Jun 2007)
- Canon EF Extender 2X II (since Jun 2007)

“Contemplating the cloudy sky and the massive trunk of a tree under a magical light is difficult when one is alone. Not being able to feel the pleasure of seeing a magnificent landscape with someone else is a form of torture. That is why I started taking photographs. I wanted somehow to eternalise those moments of passion and pain.” ~ Abbas Kiarostami ~

    Michael Costolo says:

"That Kelly shares with us scenes from her travels is a wonderful thing indeed. She has a knack for being at the right place at the right time, and she always brings with her a seasoned photographer's eye. Whether it is a stunning landscape or a view of life in what is for me a faraway land, time spend viewing Kelly's photography does not disappoint."

"I met Kelly in her trip to Iran. Soon she became part of our friendly community and we had excellent time in Iran together. I found her a gentle person, a self-esteemed lady and a very good listener.

I admire her energy level and courage for traveling alone to different countries."

"Kelly goes to places I wish I could go, and sees things I wish I could see. I should be jealous, but she always shares such wonderful photos. For allowing me to live vicariously through her wonderful photos, I am most grateful.

Okay. And I'll admit just a tad bit jealous. :-)"
