i take pictures mainly to document good times spent with friends and family for the benefit of others of the same who could not be with us at that time.

i learned a lot about photography from an elder hungarian photographer, but today much of what remains of his teaching is how to frame, when to capture, and when to let it go. i rarely, rarely, rarely (did i say rarely?) alter my photos in photoshop.

today i point and shoot a panasonic lumix with a leica lens.

i live and work in monterey / pacific grove, california, about 2 hrs south of san francisco. i'm an editor for educational publications.

i grew up in rockford, illinois (near chicago); went to school in beloit, wisconsin and worked in madison; lived abroad in rennes, france, and debrecen, hungary.

i speak english, french, hungarian and poquito espanol.
