Welcome to my photo gallery.

I am an amateur nature photographer currently residing in Dallas. You can check my photos as kaustubhdeshpande.photography.com as well.

Needless to say, photography is my primary hobby. Since my childhood days, I have been enchanted by nature and wildlife. Watching and identifying different species of birds has always given me a lot of thrills....and it still does.

I started doing nature photography by shooting landscape slides in the US National parks with Canon T70 and then moved on to the Canon Elan series of cameras. Towards the end of 2008, I bought my first DSLR, canon 40D and now shoot exclusively with it. Since spring of 2009, I have been spending a lot of time photographing birds, my favourite subject. I use canon EF 400 f/5.6L and EF 300 f/4 non-IS L lenses for most of my bird photography. I am not partial to any particular genre and try to do little bit of everything...bird portraits, flght shots, environmental shots, birdscapes and silhouettes.

I am a self-taught photographer with a lot of help from friends, the internet and books by John Shaw and Arthur Morris.
