I'm a Finnish woman who enjoys stories (both reading and listening to a good story teller - any kind of personality with great sense of humour), singing together with friends, watching films on a cosy sofa, doing sports (riding, walking, cycling, playing floorball...), reading or discussing philosophy.

I also love beautiful views & china & furnishings; the smell of sesam oil; tea, red wine, candles; the touch of freshly washed linen; old churches and new experiences.

For work I do research on African literature. At the moment I'm preparing my PhD thesis on the image of water in modern Swahili poetry (in the works of Euphrase Kezilahabi).

I also do proof-reading of different magazine articles and other texts - a job in which I can practise my strange inclination to meticulousness (which, however, in my life outside texts is often supersided by my other aptitude - creative chaos).

I like travelling a lot. This is what I have visited so far. Though I've only seen Minnesota in US, not the other states, only Montréal in Canada, and only St Petersburg in Russia - the map shows such large areas of those countries! So I've only seen small parts of the world yet. But going to see much more :)
