Originally from Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Kathy Crabbe currently lives amongst ancient oaks in an elfin forest with her pet dog and pet husband in Southern California. She has been making stuff forever! Most of the silk paintings featured here were inspired during eight years living in the unforgettable Laguna Beach, California.

Kathy has devoted her life to exploring spirituality and creativity with passion and integrity. Kathy's art is seen all over the world at museums and galleries and her writing has been published in numerous magazines and books. She also keeps a regularly updated blog and website where she shares her experiences exploring the psychic, intuitive aspects of the self and the world of art making.

I have always lived creatively. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Art History from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada and later received a Diploma in Graphic Design from St. Lawrence College. I pursued my love of the arts by becoming a professional artist, and establishing a fine art business in 1993 called LuLu Design to help market my cards, prints and original paintings. Painting, printmaking, life drawing, exhibiting and selling my work have been major influences upon the way I envision the world.

WHO IS LULU?
When Kathy was attending Graphic Design School she and her best friend Jamie aka 'Scarlet' invented alter egos/inner child characters for themselves. Kathy named hers 'LuLu' to help her live a life filled with creativity, magic and joy. She began LuLu Design shortly after moving to Southern California in 1992.

Shortly after moving to Laguna Beach, Southern California at age thirty I discovered silk painting, the perfect medium to express myself and within one year had presented and sold my work at over fifteen art shows. I was also accepted into the renowned Laguna Beach Sawdust Art Festival where I showed my work for eight years.

My main mediums are silk painting, acrylics and printmaking. My work is inspired by nature, myths, fairytales, and friends, both real and imagined. I have also been greatly inspired by living in Laguna Beach and now in the California countryside amongst ancient oaks, elfin forests, ocean breezes and red headed mermaids.

As a Creative Soul Guide I work with four oracle card decks of my own design: the Fairy Herbal Healing deck, Zodiac Goddess deck, Celtic Tree Wisdom deck and the Creative Soul Cards®.

Kathy's preferred mode of reading soul-energy is via distance - this allows her to focus on your spirit and your guides in a focused way clear of distractions. Each reading involves preparations such as meditation, sacred music and yoga to help her focus. Kathy will often pull healing stones and a cards from her four self-designed and painted oracle card decks, but unlike a tarot reading she will not actually look at the card until after the reading is finished. Kathy's readings provide women with practical tools that will empower them long after the reading is over.

AWAKEN YOUR DIVINE FEMININE SOUL E-CLASS

Kathy is currently teaching a 4 week online eclass. “Celebrating the lunar cycles is an important part of building a spiritual framework. Each month we can tune into her cycles to keep ourselves on track. At the new moon we plant our intentions for the month ahead, at the full moon we watch them flower, and at the waning moon we release and share our wisdom with the world. As women we are naturally able to resonate with these cycles in deep and meaningful ways.”
