I divide my time between writing my doctoral dissertation, teaching, photographing, and traveling. Whenever possible, I also take in stray cats and stray cameras.

Currently, I shoot both film and digital. I avoid digital post processing. I love working in the darkroom almost as much as I love taking pictures. I hope to upload more film shots in coming months, as I find time to scan them and money to develop the color shots I can't process at home in the bathtub.

I signed up for Flickr because I want to share my photos with friends and family, and also because I want to participate in a community of photography enthusiasts. One of the things I like about this site is the diversity of approaches to picture-taking here. There are all sorts of people who take all sorts of pictures for all kinds of different reasons, from the Library of Congress to people posting family snapshots to professional photographers. I love seeing these perspectives next to each other.
