Katha started in 1988 with the mission of helping as many children as possible to help themselves, their families and communities lead decent lives. Today we have more than 100,000 children in our schools in the slums and streets of Delhi, and in various reading programmes in Delhi government/municipal corporation schools. 1350 of these children study at the Katha Lab School/Kathashala.

We believe at Katha, that education is the key to bringing India’s children out of extreme poverty and hardship along with the involvement of families and communities.
