I am a lecturer within the Product Design and Engineering Department at Middlesex University. I have been based here full time since 2004. My time is divided between the completion of my PhD...

'The development of conceptual models for designing for co-design in mass customisation'

...and teaching responsibilities across the department. I am also one of the Associate Directors of red loop: the mdx design and innovation centre, an interdisciplinary design consultancy within the university. We work both internally and with commercial clients.

My research interests are in mass customisation, design and emotion, 'pleasurable products', creative conversations, and the use of empathic research methods such as design probes.

Outside of the university I continue to work as a self-employed product designer, supporting new product development in SMEs.
